Spicy Mango & Halloumi Tacos
Celebrate Week 24 with a vibrant fusion of salty, sweet, and spicy flavors. These halloumi tacos feature a fresh mango salsa and a zesty lime crema, offering a sophisticated twist on your standard taco night that is perfect for early summer.
Ingredients
- Halloumi cheese400 g
- Small flour tortillas12 pcs
- Ripe mango1 large
- Red onion0.5 pcs
- Fresh cilantro1 bunch
- Jalapeño1 pcs
- Limes2 pcs
- Sour cream200 ml
- Chili flakes1 tsp
- Olive oil2 tbsp
Instructions
Dice the mango and red onion finely. Combine in a bowl with chopped cilantro, minced jalapeño, and the juice of one lime.
In a small bowl, whisk together the sour cream, lime zest from one lime, and a pinch of salt until smooth and aerated.
Slice the halloumi into 1cm thick strips. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry the cheese with chili flakes until golden and crispy on both sides (about 2-3 minutes per side).
Lightly toast the tortillas in a dry pan until warm. Fill each with strips of crispy halloumi, top with a generous spoonful of mango salsa, and finish with a drizzle of lime crema.
